B2B Ad Campaign
Coinstar Financial sought to revolutionize coin handling
for banks and credit unions with their innovative RRT
(Retail Remote Transfer) service.
During my internship at Designity this summer, I collaborated with Creative Director Molly McIntyre and Content Writer Micah Levin on a B2B campaign for Coinstar Financial. Our collective efforts focused on crafting a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote the Retail Remote Transfer (RRT) service to decision-makers within the banking industry. Through this project, I honed my design, marketing, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
My Role
Throughout the campaign, I took ownership of designing various marketing assets,
including display ads, sponsored content, social media graphics, white papers, and infographics.My primary objective was to create visually engaging and informative content that effectively conveyed the value proposition of Coinstar's RRT service to the target audience.
By strategically combining strong design elements with persuasive messaging, I contributed to driving awareness and generating interest in the RRT solution.
Pop-up Ad Posters
To engage potential customers effectively, I designed a set of popup banners that appear center-screen after a set time.
I created banners sized at 500x400 pixels for this campaign to ensure optimal visibility and user engagement. These banners consist of four unique concepts, each with three variations:
Concept 1: The Network
In this concept, I emphasized the connectivity of Coinstar’s RRT network. By echoing the dynamic motifs from the landing page’s hero section, I aimed to create a cohesive visual experience. This continuity in design helps reassure potential customers that they’re in the right place, building familiarity and trust as they interact with the popup.
Concept 2: The Ecosystem
This concept draws on the flowchart featured on the RRT website, highlighting connections between Coinstar, customers, stores, and financial institutions. By reusing this visual from the landing page, I sought to reframe the Coinstar brand beyond its well-known grocery store kiosks, aligning it instead with broader financial services.
Concept 3: Familiarity
In contrast to the previous concepts, this one uses the classic Coinstar kiosk image to draw attention, leveraging brand familiarity. Paired with messaging about RRT’s new potential for financial institutions, it shifts the viewer’s perspective, encouraging them to see Coinstar not just as a retail fixture but as a valuable partner in coin management for their organization.
Concept 4: Ease of Use
The final concept underscores the simplicity and accessibility of the RRT service. Designed to appeal to customers who may be less tech-savvy, this approach highlights how easily users can adopt the kiosk for both coin counting and direct transfers to financial institutions. This concept promotes the RRT as an easy-to-integrate solution for banks and credit unions.

For this campaign, I developed a diverse set of concepts, each designed to highlight different aspects of Coinstar’s RRT service. Each concept aims to communicate the RRT service’s value in a visually engaging way, reinforcing Coinstar's presence as a versatile financial solution.

Simple, color-focused variations that maintain a clean, modern look.
Versions emphasizing the value of coin handling, with visuals that feature coins to draw attention.
One standout design features a dark green background with the Coinstar kiosk as the central element, paired with a subtly faded network graphic in the background. The banner’s text highlights the RRT network, making it clear that Coinstar offers a connected, reliable solution for financial institutions. This layout combines familiarity with a professional tone, creating a cohesive and engaging visual for the brand.
Whitepaper
To further delve into the potential of Coinstar's RRT service, we developed two white paper options. Both versions aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the RRT solution and its benefits for banks and credit unions.
Concept 1: The Concise Overview
This streamlined two-page white paper immediately engages readers with a striking visual representing the interconnected ecosystem of cash and digital transactions. The focus is on the streamlined integration of RRT into existing banking operations and the potential for increased revenue and efficiency.
Concept 2: The Comprehensive Exploration
This more detailed version features a captivating cover page that sets the stage for the content within. The longer format allows for a deeper exploration of the RRT solution, including its impact on underserved communities and the role of cash in modern financial systems.

To maximize the impact of our Sponsored Content on the ABA Banking Journal, we explored three distinct design approaches:
Concept 2: The Nostalgic Appeal
Leveraging a familiar image of a grandfather and grandson counting coins, this design evoked nostalgia and highlighted the timeless nature of financial transactions.
Concept 1: The Human Touch
This design showcased a friendly team photo, emphasizing Coinstar Financial's commitment to personalized service and fostering trust with potential clients.
Concept 3: The Network Advantage
This design focused on the power of Coinstar Financial's network, using a classic network graphic to symbolize connectivity and reach.
Infographic
To visually communicate the impact and reach of Coinstar's RRT service, we developed two infographics. By combining strong visuals, clear messaging, and compelling data, these infographics effectively conveyed the value proposition of Coinstar's RRT solution to the target audience.
Concept 1: The Cash Ecosystem Infographic
This infographic illustrated the significant volume of cash circulating in the U.S. economy and highlighted Coinstar's role in processing billions of dollars annually. It emphasized the cost-effective nature of the RRT solution, particularly for banks and credit unions.
Concept 2: Bridging the Banking Gap Infographic
This infographic focused on the challenges faced by underserved communities, particularly those residing in banking deserts. It showcased Coinstar's extensive network of kiosks and the convenience of its RRT service in addressing these needs.

These two design variations utilize a modular layout with distinct sections. Concept 2a features a large hero image, while Concept 2b prioritizes the ecosystem graphic. Both versions offer a visually appealing and informative presentation.
Co-branded Social Media & Digital Advertising
Coinstar x Walmart
To further amplify Coinstar's brand presence, I collaborated on a co-branded social media and digital advertising campaign with Walmart. This campaign leveraged visually striking graphics, incorporating gradient effects and creative typography, to highlight the partnership. Additionally, I developed engaging email designs to promote the collaboration and drive customer engagement.
